I stood in the corner,
Watching my life passing me by.
The waves of time washing over me.
Slow moving people are rushed into blurs, the hour hand runs round the clock.
Spiders build their webs in seconds,
And butterflies fly at the speed of light.
I can’t tell if people smile at me,
Because it would only last a second or two.
People talk to me, but I don’t catch what they say.
If I stand here long enough, I may disappear.
When did I last eat?
I just can’t remember.
People run by glancing momentarily into my mind,
They know what I think, but I don’t remember.
What do I think?
But I am stuck in this confusing life,
Stuck like a butterfly with no wings,
Waiting for my wish to be granted.
